Google Maps has updated the rules

The document includes a new section with publishing restrictions.
Google wants to make its platform safer for businesses. If all users keep adding useless or false information to Maps, it could hurt business. That’s why the new policy is to block new posts. In total, there are three different types of scrolling restrictions:

  1. Short-term: occurs when there is a large influx of irrelevant and uniform comments. Google reduces the restriction if the number of attempts to write such comments has decreased.
  2. Long-term: when spam is regularly posted in a certain category or even region.
  3. Partial and total: restricting the publication of some or all types of content if certain platform rules are violated.

More information on the new document can be found in the Guide.
